Step-by-Step Instructions

PREPARE YOUR DRUM

First, prepare your drum

Cut the bottom out of your drum, ready to fix to the mini silo base kit.

(The drum can be metal or plastic, but must be 44-gallon/220l with a 600mm base – food grade is best)

STEP 1: Assemble the base

Attach all four legs to the cone and base, using the included rivets and bolts.

  • Place the unit on a table and sit the legs in place.
  • Use the supplied rivets to fix the top of the leg to the upper part of the cone (see photo 1).

  • Using the bolt on the base, undo the nut and washer (remove only 1 nut)

  • Fix the lower part of the leg to the base section. Repeat for all legs.

STEP 2: Mount the drum

Place the drum evenly onto the cone and align it so there’s an even gap all around.

  • Put the unit on an even, solid base

  • Place your drum onto the unit

  • Position it so you have an even space between the drum and the outside lip of the cone

  • Optional: Add a bead of silicone for a fully sealed fit.
Place the drum on the base

STEP 3: Secure with hooks

Secure the drum to the base using the supplied hooks, brackets and rivets

  • Place the bottom of the hook through the hole on the cone, facing out

  • Use your drill and supplied rivets to fix the bracket to the drum

  • Repeat for all three hooks

  • NOTE: The bolt on the hook should be approximately 10mm from the top of the threaded top.

STEP 4: Tighten until stable

  • Tighten the bolts on the hooks evenly (approximately 2 turns on each hook) until the unit is stable on the silo base.

  • NOTE: Do not overtighten as it may cause distortion of the cone.

  • Your unit is now ready for use!
